Among the iron products, iron wire net or mesh which is generally used for large construction work and various types of farm or boundary work is being widely used in the current populous country of Bangladesh.
Nowadays, with the development of technology and infrastructural development, the requirement of these products is increasing enormously.
Until now, many companies in Bangladesh manufacture various types of iron rods, but there are very few iron net or net manufacturing factories in Bangladesh. Therefore, Bangladeshis have to be the masters of many countries for these imports. The production of our country is very less compared to the consumption in daily life. Our production is one-third of the country’s demand, so we have to import large quantities of iron wire and wire netting as fencing materials.
According to Bangladesh Steel Manufacturing Association, there are currently 44 automated rod manufacturing plants in the country. And there are about 100 traditional small-scale factories. Annual production capacity of long steel products including Iron rods, channels, angles, nets in all factories is 8 million tons. And 5.5 million tons are being produced.
According to Eco Expo, the best event organizer of Bangladesh “The sector is booming in Bangladesh, and people are looking for good things at low prices.†Hence traders are becoming import dependent depending on prices in a challenging market. Due to the establishment of Bangladesh factory and various complications, the interest of traders is being observed in importing the product.
So, Eco expo organized a fair in this regard in July. A lot of business interest is observed in it, and many businessmen actively participate in the fair. Organized by China’s Zhejiang Province, the fair was held virtually through the Zoom application.
