As the country develops, the use of technology is increasing. With the development of the country, various ways of earning income are being created in the country. Therefore, various types of entrepreneurs are being created to work with this industry to boost the leather industry of Bangladesh. Similarly, one of the revolutionary industries of leather industry is shoes made by human feet. Currently, leather shoes are a widely used product in Bangladesh. Nowadays leather shoes are generally used by the elite class.

Eco Expo, The best event organizer in Bangladesh thinks that, due to the huge variation in the price of leather and shoes in the country’s market, many entrepreneurs of leather shoes are now being created in the country. Although the raw material of leather was abundant in the country, its processing and technology to reach shoes was very less in Bangladesh. But nowadays, with the development of technology, the shoe industry has come with new arrivals. The accessibility of the leather industry in Bangladesh has made Bangladesh small investors interested in shoe manufacturing.

Therefore, new and small investors are showing a lot of interest in importing different types of machinery for the expansion of this industry. In 2018, the export value of different types of shoes in the world was 14 thousand 200 million dollars, of which 39 percent came from leather shoes. China holds the top position in consumption, manufacture and export of all types of shoes. In 2018, this country accounted for 16.3 percent of all leather shoes exported in the world. And in this case Bangladesh’s position was 16th. Bangladesh accounted for 1.2 percent of the leather shoes exported to the world last year, which was valued at 67.69 million dollars.

Its amount in Bangladeshi currency is 5 thousand 754 crores.

 

Such information is known from the source of WorldstopExport.com (WTX), an organization that researches the data of export products of various countries of the world, including the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States. In a study recently published on the leather shoe market in the world, the company said that in 2018, the exporting countries sold leather shoes worth about 5,570 million dollars. The top 15 countries control 82.6 percent of the export value of leather shoes in the world. In terms of numbers, Italy is the second largest exporter of footwear. Last year, the country exported leather shoes worth $801 million.

The export of leather products of Bangladesh to the United States has increased. Bangladesh’s income from exporting leather shoes to the United States increased by 64.40% to 451 million last year. Through this, Bangladesh can divert the attention of the United States from the markets of Vietnam and China in the case of Chamarajat products.

Traders in this country’s export sector say that in the future, the United States can be a bigger market than the European Union in the export of leather shoes.

According to data from the US Department of Commerce, the United States imported $33.43 billion worth of leather shoes in 2022. Which is 32.51% more than the previous year. In 2022, Bangladesh’s export of leather shoes to the US market increased by 63.25% to $406.49 million, which is higher than last year’s $249 million.

The United States imported $12.15 billion worth of shoes from China in 2022. 10.48 billion dollars from Vietnam. 745.03 million dollars from India. Imported leather shoes worth 3 billion dollars from Indonesia.

Data from the US Department of Commerce also says that the United States imported $1 billion worth of shoes from Cambodia in 2022.

According to the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Bangladesh earned $1.28 billion from leather goods exports in 2022. Which was 1.02 billion dollars in the previous year. Out of this, leather shoes export earned 795.53 million dollars. The export of leather products of Bangladesh to the United States has increased. Bangladesh’s income from exporting leather shoes to the United States increased by 64.40% to 451 million last year.

Except for some reputed companies in the country, there were hardly any genuine leather belt or shoe manufacturing factories. But in the last 3 years, a huge change can be observed in the leather footwear industry. Besides, the Bangladesh government is business friendly, and the expansion of this industry is increasing day by day, as these small businessmen are given many opportunities to import.

The interest of traders in leather shoe making or belt making industry and the necessity of not being able to meet the needs of the country made us interested in holding this fair. So, we organized a fair in November 2022 with the help of the Chinese government and Bangladeshi businessmen for shoe making raw materials and parts. At the fair, representatives of Bangladesh’s renowned companies Bata and Apex discussed and saw different types of shoe making machines with advanced technology.
