An auto show, also known as a motor show or car show, is a public display of current automobile models, debuts, concept cars or classics outside of production. It was attended by representatives of the automotive industry, dealers, auto journalists and car enthusiasts. Most auto shows are held once or twice a year. They are important to car manufacturers and local dealers as a public relations practice, as they advertise new products and promote the auto brand. The five most prestigious auto shows, sometimes referred to as the “Big Five”, are expected to be held in Frankfurt, Geneva, Detroit, Paris and Tokyo.
Some auto shows show all kinds of vehicles like 2 wheelers, 3 wheelers, and 4 wheeler. Today, there are 14 major global corporations controlling more than 60 major automotive brands worldwide, and it does not even count the small local companies in different countries of the world. Data show the total number of car models in the U.S. market from 2000 to 2017 in 2017, 237 existing and 38 new car models were offered in the US market. And there are 530 motorcycle brands of 36,000 models. Vehicles or bikes typically receive major upgrades every four to six years, and minor updates every three years.
