Cosmetics are constituted mixtures of chemical compound derived from either natural sources or synthetically created ones. Cosmetics basically used for skin care, personal care and protection of body. It is also called skin care product. Skin care products refer to those products that help maintain the integrity of the skin, provide relief for the condition of the skin and in addition improve its appearance. A wide variety of skin care products are available in the market, including creams, lotions, masks, serums and others.

The market size of Bangladesh’s skin care products was $ 1.23 billion in 2020, and is expected to reach $ 2.12 billion by 2027, registering 8.1% CAGR from 2021 to 2027. From 2020 to 2027, the skin care products market is expected to generate additional revenue of 960 million.

Cosmetics are produced mostly from different chemicals, animal fat, essence, oils etc. Some of these raw materials are produced in Bangladesh while most are imported from different countries around the world. Bangladesh imports most of its Cosmetic and raw materials from India, China, UK, Italy, and Hong Kong etc.
